Dr James Barnes is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor (SCCA), Cosmetic Doctor and an independent medical consultant. He graduated in Medicine & Surgery with Honours from the University of NSW in 1978. After studying overseas, he spent some years as medical director of several prestigious medical centres in Sydney before establishing Dee Why Skin Cancer and Cosmetic Clinic in 1998.
He is a registered medical specialist and a member of the Skin Cancer College of Australia and New Zealand. He has undertaken numerous advanced courses in skin cancer diagnosis and management, including surgery, and other training and study in cosmetic therapies, including laser and cosmetic injections with cosmetic fillers and wrinkle injections.
In late April 2014 Dr Barnes was one of a few select invitees to a master class in cosmetic injecting with Dr Arthur Swift, famed international plastic surgeon and opinion leader in the world of aesthetic surgery. “I really enjoyed the interaction with Dr Arthur Swift, as he is one of the best cosmetic injectors in the world,” said Dr Barnes. “I think I can incorporate some of his minimally invasive, low/no pain techniques in delivering beautiPHIcation to the ladies, and men, of the northern beaches of Sydney.”
His myriad hobbies and interests include spending time with his family on Curl Curl and Collaroy beaches, discussing books with friends at Long Reef and Narrabeen, enjoying frisbee throwing at Manly, Queenscliff and Freshwater (formerly Harbord) beaches, and shopping for fine fashion at Warringah Mall in Brookvale or Stockland Shopping Centre in Balgowlah.
Dr. Shaun Walsh is an independent medical consultant. He is a lifelong local Manly boy. He lives with his wife and four children including latest addition, award-winning athlete and dancer, Alexis. With dual first class honours degrees in Dentistry and Medicine, he is a gifted physician and surgeon. He has a particular interest in skin and reconstructive surgery. He regularly operates in surgical theatres with well-known Sydney plastic surgeons. As well as a keen interest in plastic surgery, Shaun has a passion for cosmetic injections, including dermal fillers and wrinkle injections.
Dr Walsh has studied extensively with leading Australian cosmetic physicians, cosmetic surgeons and plastic surgeons. He is currently a cosmetic injection trainer, attending private practices, conferences and workshops to share his extensive knowledge of the art and science of cosmetic injection.
He loves to surf at North Steyne, Queenscliff and Freshwater, ski on the deep powder of Japan, hike through rugged terrain around the northern rivers of NSW, and train at his local Fitness First gym.

Dr John Kessell is an independent medical consultant who is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor, awarded by the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. He has trained and worked in both Australia and the US, where he completed post-graduate training in New York. He has a passion for skin cancer diagnosis and treatments of all kinds, particularly surgical treatment, always seeking to achieve great cosmetic results. He also loves cosmetic medicine, especially smoothing out unwanted wrinkles.

Dr. Hanh Bui is an independent medical consultant who graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1994 and attained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1998. She has practised at Dee Why since 2000.
She is a registered medical specialist and her main professional interests are early diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer to avoid invasive procedures, wherever possible. She has been very successful at this over the years, leading to a very low rate of referral for major surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Hanh has lately specialised in complex restorative surgery of the nose and ears following skin cancer removal. She is a true artist in surgery.
Dr. Bui travels to the northern beaches from the north shore of Sydney, passing such fine suburbs as Frenchs Forest, Belrose, Beacon Hill, and Dee Why.
Dr. James Annear is an independent medical consultant who moved permanently to Sydney after many years in skin cancer practice in Perth. Jim graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1975 and developed a special interest in skin cancer and cosmetic medicine. Jim’s children are now highly successful professionals in their own right on the east coast of Australia, so Jim and his wife decided to move to the north shore to be close to them.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, a Member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia, holds the coveted Diploma of Practical Dermatology (Cardiff) and is a highly trained cosmetic injector of fillers and wrinkle injections. He lives in Mosman and has fallen in love with the northern beaches, especially the Warringah and Pittwater areas.
Jim’s main hobbies and interests include golfing, sailing, opera, ballet, visiting art galleries, and sniffing and sipping fine wine.
Dr Lucinda Raudaschl is a welcome addition to our dedicated team. She is an independent medical consultant and a very experienced skin cancer and cosmetic doctor who has fallen in love with the northern beaches. Hailing from the sunny climes of Wales, she felt that New South Wales would be a great segue in her career path. She graduated in Wales and has worked all over the world, more recently in the Sydney area. Laser Nurse, Beauty Therapist
Kerrie Bailey RN is our established laser specialist registered nurse. She enjoys challenging problems, such as laser treatment for unsightly broken capillaries, unsightly pigment, annoying skin imperfections, and spider veins on the legs. Living on the northern beaches, she appreciates the multitude of skin problems our beach life brings.
She likes using our Pearl and Pearl Fractionated lasers – together called Pearl Fusion – which act in a very similar way to Fraxel lasers, to treat deeper wrinkles, open pores, facial dyschromia (unwanted pigments and colours), and severe sun damage. She uses photodynamic therapy (PDT) to treat pre-cancerous and even established skin cancers. PDT delivers the most cosmetically pleasing result for those who wish to remove sunspots and clean up sun-damaged skin.
Kerrie is very experienced with lasers and other cosmetic therapies. She has trained and supervised many nursing and beauty therapy staff in leading laser clinics over the past 25 years. As well, she surgically assists several prominent plastics surgeons. Kerrie is a Member of the Dermatology Nurses Association, a Member of the Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery Nurses Association, and has completed the coveted Laser Safety Officers Course.
